London Seaward were defeated at home by the Canaries after a ‘soft’ penalty was awarded.
Seaward manager Jason Murray claimed “It just didn’t really break for us” after an unlucky 1-0 loss to Norwich city.
Despite the loss, Murray was “delighted with the team’s performance” with a clear improvement visible within the team after we fell to a 5-1 defeat in the last meeting.
The gaffer praised their efforts in the second half and claimed the Anchors were “the only team in it” with Seaward dominating possession in the final third.
There was a controversial penalty awarded to the away side in the first half with an alleged hand ball in the box which Murray described as “really soft”.
The spot-kick was converted but Seaward didn’t let their heads drop and if anything battled harder. There were also questions of a penalty that the Anchors called for when a player was pushed down in the box but this was dismissed by the referee.
With Seaward facing Cambridge United away next week, Murray wants to build on “the great recent performances and momentum within the team”.
“We just need something to turn in our favour”, Murray said.
“The team are working towards earning some crucial points in the next games and we’re excited for the challenge ahead.
”When asked about a standout player the manager found it hard to pinpoint one player.
“The whole back five were excellent, including the Alex Baker in goal but Jo Butler wins my vote for her outstanding effort and energy.
”Seaward return to action next week with a trip away to Cambridge United.

Why not play the girls in the squad that haven’t had a chance yet. You have nothing to lose and you might just gain!!
