London Seaward is more than just what happens on the pitch. From playing, to coaching, to volunteering, to supporting us financially (every little helps!). There is a role for everyone and we’d love for you to get involved.

To ensure the effective governance of the club we hold elections each year for all our committee positions and for the directors of London Seaward FC Limited. These elections must take place before 1st August each year. Only members can vote in the elections.

Chairman (Director)

(current incumbent willing to stand for election 23/24)

The role:

  • The main purpose of this role is to lead the organisation
  • Chair the monthly committee meetings and AGM
  • Produce the agendas and share relevant information with members
  • Bring together the whole club development plan
  • Take responsibility for oversight and governance, in particular functioning and sustainability of the club as a whole.
  • Ensure London Seaward FC limited is compliant and support record keeping
  • Run the subsequent years elections
  • Ensure committee members are fulfilling their roles and responsibilities.
  • Ensure our values are the golden thread through our organisation 
  • The chairman will also be a director of London Seaward FC limited.

Personal qualities:

As the Chairperson of the Club, it is essential you are a strong leader who can be objective and can help create a shared vision for the club.

Time commitment: 

4 hours per week

Secretary (Director)

(current incumbent willing to stand for election 23/24)

The role:

  • The main purpose of this role is as the principal administrator for the club.
  • Carry out or delegates all the administrative duties that enable the club and its members to function effectively e.g. affiliating the club to the County FA
  • Takes a pivotal role within the club, with a close involvement in the general running of the club.
  • Dealing with correspondence and acting as the main point of contact for people within and outside the club on just about every aspect of the club’s activities.
  • Representing the club at outside meetings at the direction of the Club Committee.

  • The Secretary will also be a director of London Seaward FC limited

Personal qualities:

Organised and committed, with an eye for detail. Previous experience is desirable but not required.

Time commitment:

Approximately eight hours each week; many of these will be at weekends and in the evenings. As the first point of contact with the club, it is helpful for the Secretary to be available to take phone calls during the working day.

Treasurer (Director)

(current incumbent willing to stand for election 23/24)

 The role:

  • The main purpose of this role is to look after the finances of the club
  • Collecting subscriptions and all money due to the organisation
  • Paying the bills and recording information
  • Keeping up-to -date records of all financial transactions
  • Ensuring that all cash and cheques are promptly deposited
  • Ensuring that funds are spent properly.
  • Issuing receipts for all money received and recording this information
  • Reporting regularly to the Committee on the financial position
  • Preparing a year end statement of accounts and other statutory documents
  • Arranging for the statement of accounts to be audited
  • Presenting a year-end financial report to the committee
  • Ensure our values are the golden thread through our organisation
  • The treasurer will also be a director of London Seaward FC limited

Personal qualities:

The Treasurer must be well organised, able to keep records, careful when handling money and cheques, scrupulously honest, able to answer questions in meetings, confident handling figures

Time commitment:

Approximately two to three hours per week

Vice-chair

(current incumbent willing to stand for election 23/24)

The Role: 

  • Support the development and execution of the whole club development plan
  • Develop the Commercial Sponsorship & Social Media strategy in collaboration with Commercial and Sponsorship lead 
  • Support the Social Media Lead to carry out their duties
  • Ensure the club website and other digital assets are up to date and accurate
  • Manage and monitor the committee email inbox.
  • Support the chair and deputise when needed.
  • Support the club in the development of its policies and procedures.
  • Raise any membership applications that require sign off and record in log book 
  • Continually monitor and review the commercial sponsorship & social media strategy along with the appropriate leads
  • Ensure our values are the golden thread through our organisation

Personal qualities:

Creative, forward thinking, with previous experience in business. 

Time commitment:

Approximately five hours per week

Commercial and sponsorship lead

(current incumbent willing to stand for election 23/24)

The role:

  • The main purpose of this role is to raise funds for the club
  •  Applying for grants / sponsorship or other forms of financial assistance from organisations such as Sport England/ Football Foundation, Local Authorities or commercial companies;
  • Coordinating fund-raising events, possibly two major events a year
  • Ensuring that funds are properly accounted for, and information is passed on to the Treasurer;
  • Support the club’s player sponsorship drive by communicating with player sponsors and passing across relevant information. As well as communicating with all players around expectations and timelines and supporting players to acquire a sponsor.

Personal qualities:

It is essential to have good organisational skills, be innovative, enthusiastic and prepared to make a regular time commitment. It would be useful if you have completed grant applications and have previous experience in commercial ventures/sponsorship.

Time commitment:

On average three or four hours each week, with increased workload during key times throughout the year.

Welfare officer

(Vacant)

The role:

  • The main purpose of this role is to look after the welfare of the players at the club
  • Responsible for player surveys and exit surveys
  • Ensuring everyone who needs an FA DBS check does one
  • You will be a point of contact for all players if they have any concerns
  • Support the creation of effective safeguarding policies
  • Ensure all club members are up to date with the appropriate FA Safeguarding courses
  • To attend FA WNL CPD
  • Assisting with the planning of events and engagement to ensure we are compliant with safeguarding requirements

Personal qualities:

You must be compassionate, kind and caring as well as having the necessary welfare officer qualifications (or be willing to undertake them). Ability to take minutes is desirable.

 Time commitment:

Approximately two to three hours per week will have approx  45 players who would be under your care. It is also desirable that you attend home fixtures.

Player representative

(Vacant)

This role should go through a process of nominations from  Players prior to member election.

  • Be the voice of the players at Committee meetings 
  • Assist the Welfare  officer in organising & encourage participation in player surveys etc
  • Encourage all players to embrace our vision and values 
  • Ensure our values are the golden thread through our organisation

Personal qualities:

You must be a strong leader with good communication skills and a good role model for the players.  Ability to take minutes is desirable 

Time commitment:

Approximately one to two hours per week
