After a convincing start to the season last week against Wymondham Town Women, we were on the road again this Sunday, ready to face a new face in the league – Chesham United Ladies.
We arrived at “the Meadow” (which you may recognise from a couple of iconic Taskmaster episodes) and after a brief team talk in the sunshine, we were raring and ready to go. There were a few changes of personnel from last week’s season opener, and the team stepped out onto the pitch focused on the task ahead.
The match began at a very high pace, with neither team able to take control of the game in the first few minutes. Seaward’s high press began to pay off towards the middle of the half, and led to a flurry of chances, with Katherine Long, Ellie Pace and Giorgia Bracelli all denied by some superb goalkeeping from the Chesham keeper. Seaward continued to press but we were unable to break the deadlock, which meant it was all square at the break…
