We are delighted to announce the arrival of Jason Murray as the new first-team manager of London Seaward FC!
Murray has an impressive managerial CV having managed Forest Crusaders WFC, Romford WFC, Clapton WCFC, and Buckhurst Hill FC. He is also the current Head of Men’s Football at the University of East London.
Speaking on his arrival, the 50-year-old said: “I’m extremely excited to have joined London Seaward.”
“That being said, we are aware of the task we have ahead of us. Nobody comes into a new management role in November with the team sitting top of the league.
“My conversations with the club over the last three weeks were all very positive and it was instantly clear we shared the same drive and ambition to progress on and off the pitch.
“The key target is to secure tier 4 football for the club next season and to give the team the stability it’s lacked in a very challenging campaign to date.
“Ultimately, we want to start picking up some points and building some momentum. We have a talented group and they have been incredibly receptive in the very short period of time we have worked with them.
“All of the coaching staff are under no illusion regarding the task ahead, and are relishing the challenge of this highly competitive division.”
Murray has overseen training for the last couple of weeks and was in the dugout for our narrow 1-0 loss to Brentford in the Adobe FA Cup second round.
He will now take up the position with immediate effect.
As part of these changes, we can confirm that both Zohir Bara and Mohammed Choudhary have left the club by mutual consent.
We thank Zohir and Mo for steadying the ship after George Murphy’s departure and for leading us to the Adobe FA Cup second round – the furthest in the club’s history. We wish them the very best for the future.
We can also confirm that coaches Joey Soyebo and Ellis Marsh will be remaining at the club as part of Jason’s coaching team but will be joined by new additions Kevin Watts and Sandeep Hunjan.
